alarm clock

dint know that dogs are likes cocks who crow at dawn.

haze woke me up at 559am yesterday. today he woke me up at 4 plus but i shook the can and the next time the barkings and yelpings came were at 600am.

he was hungry. it is definitely a zombified weekend for me.

how to pack

it was crazy packing just now. im staying over at m&m's now to look after haze. yesterday was an eventful day. mike brought haze to my place but guess he wasnt comfortable at all. after m left, haze pee-ed on my couch and did not stop shivering when i carried him. i couldnt bear with it and brought him back to m&m's place. ran out of the house with just a sweater.

so... i had to go home to pack for next week cos was going to stay over at harry's to take care of wire but the number of outfits i had to assemble was outrageous.

sunday
- brunch/church
- brooklyn botanical garden for sakura
- ballet performance at night

monday to friday
- work attire and i tried my best to mix and match such that i can repeat stuff without anyone noticing
- gym clothes

wednesday
- business casual for an event, which means a suit
- andy's office party

saturday
- tribeca film fest

it was impossible to get all outfits into my addidas gym bag. not to say the matching accessories, matching shoes and matching bags. argh. did i over-pack?

pseudo summer

the sheep meadow in central park

this is what you see on the guide books. and i finally captured it on my camera. it was blazing hot last sunday. so come the nyokers in their trunks and bikinis, tanning in central park. how desperate are they! ahha... for all that effort, they will only get burnt and turn red. not tanned.

i love the skycrappers in the background and grills in the foreground. it was quite a perfect sunday, abeit for the overpriced brunch at sarabeth's. how did i remeber it to be so good 2 years ago?

replayed

so i met the ex. finally. since i sent him off at the airport in aug 2001. since i moved to ny in nov 2004. since he graduated and moved to work in ny, we have not chanced upon each other. as said so by a friend, it was kinda ironic that i saw him on spore day.

i knew that was going to happen. it was spore day after all. and i am hanging out with all the archi people who all know him but no one has ever mentioned him in front of me- cos they are scared of a wwiii?!

not sure how he caught my eyes or i caught his eyes in the sea of people. i smiled; he smiled. i continued walking. i smiled to his gf standing next to him but she dint return the smile. not that she was cold on a hot day but she probably thought i was an over-friendly stranger.

glad that there was a distance between us. if not, it wld have seemed impolite not to stop to say hi. glad that i was balancing two bowls of rice dumplings on my two hands. glad that i was wearing my shades.

replayed the scene over and over again, for countless times. it is an involuntary behavior.

i heart Sg

goodie bags

the long awaited event on sat 4.21.07. everyone was excited over it. afterall, it was the inaugural singapore day in nyc.

snow storm 3.16.07

aftermath of snow storm on 3.16.07 fri

i seem to have a penchant of taking pictures of bicycles. took quite a few when i was in switzerland last year. lukas informed me then bikes in switzerland have number plates. well, stickers at the back of the bikes, heh.

thought that this shot was taken rather tastefully, though it did not protray the snow storm the day before much. it was BAD. i worked from home and had wanted to stay in for the whole day. but it was marion's bday party at night and having accepted the invitation, i dint think it will be courteous to reject it. moreover, i was trying to expand my network and i was surprised, and of course pleased that she invited me. we had developed a bond during the nicaragua trip.

it was indeed like an expedition to her place. a journey that would have taken 30-40 min on a normal day turned out to be a 2.5hrs trip. by then, the streets were covered with snow, nothing but snow. having snowed since morning. woah and the wind was freaking strong. each step that i took, the snow reached up to 1/3 of my calf. saw no one. i started screaming quietly to god that he ll save me bwwwah. upon arrival at my destination, i gave her a tight squeeze and declared, "MARION, i love you so much to come this far!!"it was a pleasant evening, good enough to make up for things. and there was a new member to the family- haze. he should be appearing in my subsequent blogs.
